German machinery manufacturing orders up 7% year-on-year in August

Berlin, 4 Oct (Xinhua) -- According to data released by the German Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing Association on the 4th, after adjustment, orders in the German machinery manufacturing industry in August increased by 7% year-on-year.

Data showed that German domestic orders and overseas orders increased by 8% and 6% respectively in August. The association's chief economist, Ralph Willes, said demand for orders from eurozone countries was sluggish in the month, while orders from non-eurozone countries increased by 8 percent.

In addition, from June to August this year, German machinery manufacturing orders increased by 8% year-on-year, domestic orders and overseas orders increased by 10% and 7% respectively. Among them, eurozone orders increased by 6%, and non-eurozone increased by 7%.

The report believes that German machinery manufacturing orders have maintained a growth trend.

With more than 3,200 member companies, the German Machinery and Equipment Construction Association is one of the largest machine building industry associations in Europe. At present, there are about 6,400 machinery manufacturing enterprises in Germany, and the overall R&D investment accounts for about 10% of the output value, which is the main power source of German innovation.
